So First Thing to take care of LinkedIn Job Search is to complete your Profile 100% most candidate won't even do this , consider the profile page as your front door or gate the first thing guest notices when they come to your house. So it is needless to say that it should be good , Please follow these points in the first section.
- Give a good Professional Headshot. (Use the LinkedIn Profile Pic frame "Open to Work" you can get it when you edit the profile pic.)
- Use the Back ground space behind the profile pic to put a quote or some useful info about you to get to the Recruiter.
- Give your full name in Caps would be more eye catching .
- Give a good professional head line ( Do not post " I am searching for Job " it will be equal to begging - would you consider a candidate like that ? unless you are looking exploit the job seeker ? ) Or put your Current Job Position. If you are not sure click here .
- Fill the Company name , Industry ,Education , DOB , and Give your reachable contact number with complete international code and your email id ( please make it a professional one not like rock,prince,y2k etc.)
- Click on the Open to button and choose finding a new job , in this section give your preferences o related to the job and sure the profile is open by choosing the last section in that window "Chose Who sees you are open "
- Next up is a featured section upload your CV and other certificate copies here to showcase your skills, education etc. These should show why you are to be considered for a job .If possible add a video cv here check the below video as reference courtesy of Maya Kamoun. - Next is a about section write a brief paragraph about you and your work experience or your skills include relevant keyword related to your job , so your profile may appear in a normal search. Next section is about your job experience make sure to put all the relevant details of your job and put them in bullet points also add your achievements here and make sure to have relevant keywords here.
- Next Section is to showcase you education details put all the relevant details regarding your education here starting with the latest in first . adding your certificate here would also be good.
- In the Next section showcase your licenses and certifications if any here you can add certifications you can get front LinkedIn learning center and also there are a lot of websites offering free certifications on various topics showcase it here to boost your chances on getting hired , I will share the free education websites later.
- Next up is an endorsement section here you can put your skills and your colleagues or connections can endorse you can endorse you giving a good impression on your profile to a recruiter also you have an option to take a free skill test of linked in in certain topics.
- The last section is to show you accomplishments and other highlights of your career or interests there is a lot of options here to explore among them is to put your educational and workplace related achievements.
